Canstar Resources (TSXV: ROX) explores two of the world’s best-endowed VMS belts. Drills are turning at the flagship Mary March project, 20 km from the past-producing Buchans Mine — with exploration funded by partners at the project level.
One deposit style, five metals: VMS systems carry copper, zinc, lead, silver and gold in a single orebody. Canstar holds ground in two of the world’s best-endowed VMS belts — the Buchans district of central Newfoundland, where 16.2 million tonnes were mined at some of the highest VMS grades on record, and Sweden’s Skellefte belt, in production for over a century. Partners fund exploration at the project level, limiting dilution to shareholders.
Canstar’s flagship project covers 145.6 km² in the heart of Newfoundland’s Buchans VMS district, approximately 20 km east of the past-producing Buchans Mine. Historic production from the Buchans Mine ranks among the highest-grade polymetallic deposits ever mined: 16.2 Mt at 14.5% Zn, 7.6% Pb, 1.33% Cu, 126 g/t Ag and 1.37 g/t Au. Earn-in partner VMS Mining Corporation funds exploration at the project level, with C$4.0 million advanced to date under a phased earn-in of up to C$12 million. The first drill program at Mary March since 2019 commenced in June 2026.

Golden Baie is a district-scale gold-antimony project along more than 90 km of strike on a crustal-scale fault system. In March 2026 Canstar optioned the project to Churchill Resources Inc., which funds exploration under work commitments of C$1 million in year one and C$5 million over 24 months. Canstar has received initial cash and share consideration and retains a 0.5% NSR royalty and an equity position in Churchill.
