Geology

Teck’s Daniel’s Harbour Mine operated from 1975 to 1990 and extracted 7mt of ore grading 7.8% Zinc (Historic non- NI43-101 resource) producing a sphalerite concentrate running 63% zinc. The 22 mined orebodies are a swarm of worm like structures less than 30m high by 60m wide and up to 3000m long following a roughly northeast trend obliquely crossing the crest of an anticline where the mineralization within the dolomitized Catoche Formation occurs at surface and mining followed the orebodies to shallow depths. There is potential for additional mineralization where this trend of orebodies continues at depth in north-south trending synclines on either side of the mined orebodies. Mineralization has also been found in other places where the Cathche Formation outcrops or has been drilled.
